Red Heart Soft: This is one of my favorite go to yarns. It is an acrylic, medium/light weight worsted with a very soft feel and nice sheen. It works well for almost any project. I love it for hats, sweaters, scarves and more. It comes in a wide range of colors. I made the Beantown Beanie and Arctic Snow Hats with this yarn, as well as my Glamour Gloves, and Rosary Hill Banket.
Red Heart Soft Essentials: This yarn is similar to the Red Heart Soft but in a bulky #5 weight acrylic. I find this yard a real pleasure to work with. It just feels so good! Projects work up quickly too and I’ve made several blankets and throws with this one! Here are some of the projects where I used this yarn – Essentials Baby Blanket, Starlight Tree Skirt, Snuggler Cardi and Pretty in Pink Reversible Pillows.
Red Heart Soft Essentials Baby: This yarn is just as soft as the bulky version but in a #4 worsted weight which lends itself well to baby garments in addition to blankets. Of course, it’s not just for baby! This yarn would make lovely cowls, scarves, hats and more for the whole family! The yarn is available in a nice collection of solids and multi-colors that coordinate well with each other as well as the bulky yarn for beautiful sets.
Red Heart Creme de la Creme: This is my preferred yarn for home projects such as placemats, dish towels, baskets, and more, but I’ve also used it with success for bags, hats and garments. It is 100% cotton and has a softer feel and better drape than similar yarns and comes in a nice collection of colors. Tree Dish Cloth, Frosty Placemat, Scrap Kitchen Set, and the Summer Cheer Dress and Kerchief Set (so cute!).
Red Heart Hopscotch: This was a recent find and I LOVE it! This acrylic yarn is perfect for shawl, cowls, hats and other fashion accessories. It’s listed as a #4 worsted, but I find it works up slightly thicker. It’s available in a number of coordinated colors that are fun to work with. I used this for my Mysteria Wrap and gotten many compliments.
Red Heart Dreamy: This #5 bulky acrylic has a brushed look that reminds me of mohair (without the itch). It comes in several pretty colors and I found it fun to work with. You can see it in my Pillow Soft Throw, Dreamy Scarf and Dreamy Hat.
Chic Sheep: This is a new one in the Red Heart line-up and so far I love it. I’m working up a project with it right now, so I’ll have to come back and update this review, but so far I’m really enjoying this 100% merino yarn. It’s a #4 worsted weight and comes in some lovely colors — more to follow!
Red Heart Unforgettable: This is a #4 worsted weight, but works up a little lighter in my opinion. It is 100% acrylic but looks like a fine wool, without the scratchy feel. This roving yarn comes in a lovely collection of pastels and vivid color combinations and produces very luxurious projects. Check out my Autumn Sunset Hat, Autumn Sunset Super Scarf and Unforgettable Cables Headband to see some of my projects with this yarn.
Red Heart Super Saver: This one is the workhorse of the Red Heart line up. The easy care and versatility of this #4 worsted acrylic has kept it around as long as I can remember, but, like a fine wine, it has only improved over the years. Today’s Super Saver is softer and comes in over 150 colors, stripes, ombre, fair isle, chunky and more! I have too many projects made with this yarn to list (you can see them all on my website/shop), but here are a few of my favorites: Snuggler Cardigan Sweater, Down the Chimney Gift Bags, Sea Glaze Hat and Poncho, Eve’s Reversible Tote, and more!
Red Heart Scrubby Smoothie: I was familiar with the regular Red Heart Scrubby, but I was not prepared for how much I was going to love this yarn! This is a 100% cotton, #4 worsted. It is available in 30 colors and was dyed to match top selling shades of the original Scrubby. While this would be a perfect yarn to use in conjunction with Scrubby for washcloths, it is so much more! The yarn is soft, but sturdy and works up beautifully in bags, fashion accessories and items for the home. I’m even planning a baby blanket as I write this! I’ve used this yarn for a couple of bag patterns: Celtic Bottle Bag and  Reversible Pineapple Tote
Red Heart It’s A Wrap:Â This yarn was a lovely surprise. It’s a cotton/acrylic mix in a #1 fine weight and I thought it might be difficult to work with, but I was wrong! This yarn felt great in the hand and worked up smoothly. It has nice drape and a subtle sheen that makes it perfect for casual garments, and shawls. It comes in a lovely range of color combinations to and I can’t wait to use it again! I used this yarn to make my Weekender Tunic and Beach Cover Up and love how it turned out.
Red Heart With Love: This is a very soft premium acrylic worsted weight yarn, that feels good to the touch. It is easy care, machine wash and dry and comes in over 30 no-dye-lot colors AND its made in the USA! Mix and match them to make blankets and throws, hats, scarves, sweaters and more. I used this yarn to make my Casablanca 12″ Squares!
Red Heart With Love Chunky: The same great yarn as the worsted weight, but in a chunky weight! I used this yarn for several of my patterns including With Love Slippers, April Showers Slippers.
Red Heart Super Saver Chunky: This is a soft, chunky, squishy yarn that I really enjoyed working with. It’s 100% acrylic and available in 19 trendy colors. I think this would work well for chunky cowls, hats and other fashion accessories, but I liked it in my sturdy Woodland Baskets too!
Red Heart Fur:Â This luxurious faux fur is the perfect accent for so many projects and it’s also great for furry creatures. I found I needed to work it with a large hook and feel the stitches more than see them, but I loved the result. You can see it in action in my Woodland Santa Basket.
Red Heart Colorscape:Â This pretty yarn has amazing color effects that resemble the subtle changing colors of a landscape. The yarn is listed as a worsted #4 weight yarn, but it worked up more like a lighter bulky. It’s soft and pleasant with nice stitch definition and pleasant to work with. I used it for the Colorscape Cloche and Cowl but it would look great in many different projects!
Red Heart It’s A Wrap Rainbow: I am in love with this yarn! This #2 fine weight, acrylic/cotton blend is soft and has wonderful drape. The 150 gram balls (623 yards) are enough for an average size wrap or shawl. This yarn is available in 8 gorgeous color combinations with beautiful, long transitions. I used this yarn for my Biscotti Scarf or the Winter Indulgence Wrap.
Aunt Lydia’s Fashion #3 Crochet Thread: This thread is full of luster and sheen like its #10 counterpart, but because it’s a little thicker, it works up super fast. This thread is great for projects for the home as well as garments.
Red Heart Sweet Home: This is a chenille yarn that is soft, plush and comfy. It makes you want to just cuddle up with it! This super-bulky weight #6 yarn is 100% polyester and machine washable. Balls are 193 yards/10.5 oz each and they go a long way. Sweet Home works up super fast too, so you can get your project done and start the cuddling! The yarn is available in 12 colors. I love them all but my favorite is the Berry Bliss! I made my Heart Pillow in this yarn and love it!
