Want More Fun?
I’ll be releasing new FREE patterns using Red Heart Yarns and I’ll be featuring select patterns and roundups too. Below are the new projects I’ll be releasing during the month (and there may be a couple of surprises thrown in too), so get your supplies ready!
#1 – Release date 6/8/2018 – Celtic Gift Bag perfect for a Father’s Day bottle of cheer!
- Worked in Red Heart Scrubby Smoothie yarn. You will need:
- Color 1 (blue) – 1 skein
- Color 2 (green) – about 100 yards
- Color 3 (yellow) – about 20 yards
Clue: If you make the Reversible Tote bag in the same color scheme, you will have enough of colors 2 and 3 to make this bag too, so all you need is the main color!
#2 – Release date 6/15/2018 – Reversible Pineapple Tote with two distinct sides!
- Worked in Red Heart Scrubby Smoothie yarn. You will need:
- Color 1 (blue) – 2 skeins
- Color 2 (green) – 2 skeins
- Color 3 (yellow) – 1 skein
- 3/4″ – 1″ Metal Rings – 5
- Decorative Beads for ties (optional)
#3 – Release date 6/22/2018 – The Weekend At The Beach Tunic, is great over a bathing suit, jeans, shorts and more!
The top is available in 4 sizes, but very easy to customize if you should need to, by following the guidelines in the pattern.
Gauge= Hook US H/5.00mm = 19 double crochet x 10 rows = 4″
- Small/Medium = 40″ chest x 28″ long
- Large/XLarge = 48″ chest x 29″ long
- 2X/3X = 56″ chest x 29″ long
- 4X/5X = 64″ chest x 29″ long
- I Worked this top in It’s A Wrap yarn in the color “Documentary” with two strands held together throughout. I love the color combinations and feel of this yarn, but wanted a little thicker weight so I just doubled it up! I also planned the color changes to get a symmetrical look. If you allow the colors to break organically, you will need fewer balls (see yardage amounts not number of balls) and if you choose a thicker yarn (such as Creme de la Creme) you will only need about 1/2 the yardage.
- The yarn requirements for this one depend on how you decide to work it and are estimated as follows:
- Using It’s A Wrap with two strands together and planned color changes as shown:
- Small/Medium – 2200 yards – you should be able to squeeze this out of 2 balls but you will not have any leftovers at all!
- Large/XLarge – 2750 yards – 4 balls with enough left over to make another small project.
- 2X/3X – 3250 yards – 4 balls with some leftover.
- 4X/5X – 3725 yards – 4 balls with a little leftover
- Using a DK or light worsted weight, such as Creme de la Creme (check gauge to be sure sizing will work out), yardage would be as follows:
- Small/Medium – 1100 yards
- Large/XLarge – 1375 yards
- 2X/3X – 1625 yards
- 4X/5X – 1865 yards
- Using It’s A Wrap with two strands together and planned color changes as shown:
- You’ll also need 5 metal rings (3/4″ or 1″ diameter) for the handles and bag closure. I used square beveled edge rings which you can find HERE.
- It’s optional, but I like the look of decorative beads at the end of the ties!

I have been searching all over for the advertised free pattern for the Weekend at the Beach Tunic and I cannot find it. It is so frustrating! Why isn’t there a link on the page? Please help. Thank you.
I’m sorry you are frustrated. There is no link because the pattern hasn’t been released yet. As noted in the post, the pattern will be released on 6/22/2018 for free on my website and there will be an ad-free PDF available for purchase in my Ravelry shop. The purpose of this post was to introduce the upcoming projects and give folks a chance to get their supplies ready. Let me know if you still have questions.
