12 Weeks of Christmas CAL 2017
#12WeeksChristmasCAL
Click HERE for all the details
Welcome to Week 5!
This week we will be working on the Dreamy Hat. This hat matches the Dreamy Scarf of a couple of weeks ago, and like the hat, is soft, fluffy and squishy. I designed this as a beanie but for a different look, I lengthened the band so that it can be cuffed up. I also added a pom-pom, just because they are fun.
The pattern stitch is a super easy one row repeat that creates a horizontal bar and nice texture. I’ve used this stitch in blankets before and really love how easily and quickly it works up.
Thank you to our sponsor Red Heart Yarns, for providing the yarn for this project. I used Dreamy yarn in the color Aqua, but you can choose from seven beautiful colors. This Dreamy yarn is enjoyable to work with and has nice hand feel. It is considered a #4 worsted yarn, but feels more like a bulky as it produces a fabric quickly. The finished fabric is soft and dense for warmth, without a heavy feel and allows for nice stitch definition.

The pattern for the dreamy hat is great. Love how it’s coming out but have a question on the instructions. I’m making the adult small a d in round 1 of the side decreases it says I should have 48 stitches but I’m ending with 38 stitches. I’ve forged and redone this row 3 times and not sure what I’m doing wrong. Help!
I’m sorry you are having trouble. Please check that you have 54 stitches in the previous round. If you do, then each decrease round reduces the count by 6, so after the first decrease you would have 48, then 42 after the next and so on. Please be careful with the instructions that repeat between the [ ] and then the bigger repeats between the *
