I am amazed at all the shawl projects you guys are sharing in the Pattern Paradise Crochet Community – what a beautiful collection of colors and yarns and some of you have even made more than one shawl! Here we are at the final stretch. Part 3 includes Rows 31 through the edging. Just a few more rows and your piece of art will be final! I have enjoyed hosting this crochet-along and I hope you’ve enjoyed crocheting with us. Stay tuned for more fun projects to come. 🙂
Be sure to join us in the Pattern Paradise Crochet Community for a chance to win prizes (see the details below)!
The yarn I used for the grey ombre shawl was a custom dyed gradient made for Pattern Paradise by Katy from KT & The Squid. Katy is offering her gradient sets at 10% off through the end of April with the coupon code SPRING SHOWERS, CLICK HERE to see her current collection.
I thought it would be fun to try this pattern in a lighter yarn for the summer too, and so I made it up in a linen blend yarn that I love as well! Really, I think it would look great in almost any DK weight yarn. You could also play with different weights, but of course, that would result in different sizing and I haven’t tested that.

💜 this pattern!! Thank you!!
I do have a question I’m doing the edge & I’m wondering what this means
[sc, ch 2, sl st, in side of last sc, sc]
Side?
Yes, this is an easy way to make a picot. You actually work a slip stitch in the side of the sc made right before the ch2 then continue crocheting in the next stitch. The bump that’s created makes a picot point.
I’m loving the Spring Showers CAL pattern. I have used Sirdar Americana Cotton blend.
I’m a little concerned that the shawl has come up a little shorter than I would like my shawl to be. I’m a beginner in crochet. Please could you tell me which set of rows I should repeat to make a little longer?
I have not tested it but several participants in the CAL told me they repeated rows 20 – 30.
Glad you are enjoying the pattern.
