How to Make a Project Page on Ravelry
How many times have you been told to “link up” a project page on Ravelry but had no idea what that meant? Well one of the great thing about Ravelry is that it is a pattern database and also allows you, the crocheter, to keep project notes, photos and other information related to the projects you make – this is known as a project page!
If the pattern listing already exists, then it is super easy!
Step 1: Find the pattern you want to make, in the upper right side, you will see the options below. Be sure to give the pattern some love and “add to favorites” (I’m sure the pattern designer will appreciate it 🙂 ). You may also “add to library” to make it easier to find the pattern later on.
To create the project page, click on “hook it! project”.
Step 2: At this point a new box will open. This box will default to the pattern name, if you would like to re-name it, you may do so at this time. Click on “create this project”.
Step 3: At this point you will have a blank project page. Click on “edit project” on the upper right side and enter the relevant information. You may update your progress status as you work on the project and don’t forget to give the pattern a STAR and difficulty rating on the lower right. Add your photos too! One note, to comply with copyright, please don’t enter any pattern instructions or photos that would reveal the pattern — this is for your notes, not a place to store the pattern instructions 🙂
Step 4: Once you’ve added your information, be sure to save your changes. In addition to storing your notes here, you may share directly to groups too!
To find your Project Page later on, simply hover over the tab on the top “My Notebook” and then click on “projects“.

If the pattern listing DOES NOT already exists, then follow the steps below.
Step 1: Click on “My Notebook” in the upper right side of your screen; Click on “projects”. You will have a screen that looks like this:
Step 2: Click on “add projects” and you will have the following project form. If the pattern were already listed on Ravelry, you could type the name in the “Enter Pattern Name” section and you would get a listing of all patterns with that name. You could choose from there and it would link your project to that pattern. However, if your pattern is not yet listed you can choose that option and come back later to link it.
Steps 3 and 4: See section above for patterns already listed on Ravelry.
That’s it! Easy 🙂 Be sure to Pin this post for reference!
