The X Stitch crochet pattern challenge is coming to an end? With the holidays quickly approaching, the November design is a tribute to the wonderful colors of fall and harvest. This placemat and napkin ring set are worked in worsted weight yarn and make up super quick. I can’t wait to set my Thanksgiving table with these colorful, pretty placemats. Of course, change up the colors and they work for other holidays or every day use too. They are generously sized but you can easily adjust the size by adding or decreasing the beginning chain in increments of two.
I designed this pattern using the X stitch but you can use the modified X stitch if you prefer. Of course you can make them in solid colors they are great stash busters too!
I used Red Heart Super Saver for this crochet pattern. I love the color range of this line plus it’s super thick for long lasting placemats! You can buy this yarn at our affiliates, here are some options:

In instructions for the placemat, why does it have instructions for Rows 21-32 and then on the next line, Row 3? And it’s different than what was the instruction for Row 3? I see in the next set of instructions you’re working backwards from Rows 18 back to Row 2, so should it be that what is after Rows 21-32 should really say “Row 33”?, but then I’m confused about the transition to the next step.
Thanks for the clarification! This is beautiful and I look forward to hopefully tackling this pattern, but know I would be frustrated once I get to this if I can’t get it figured out first.
I think it was a typo…supposed to be Row 33
You are correct, it’s been corrected 🙂
It was a typo, should be 33.
