I tried making these today, the pattern is very easy to follow, great directions but even though my sole was 8.5 they seem very small. I went up one full size hook and used double strands. Has this been a problem with anyone else? I do tend to crochet a bit tight so always have to go up 1/2 size hook. Thank you so much for the wonderful pattern!
Do you happen to have a version of this pattern for kids? These are my favorite slippers ever, and my daughter loves them and REALLY wants some for herself, but she’s 8 and has small feet for her age. I would also love to make some for all of my nieces and nephews. By the way, this will be what I will make for birthday gifts for my sisters, brothers-in-law and mom, dad, and favorite aunt this coming year. A cousin has even seen my picture of them and requested that I make some for him. They are just too wonderful not to share. Thanks for such a wonderful pattern!
How do I download the Velvety Slippers pattern?
I cannot find a link anywhere.
The pattern is not a download, it is resident on my blog. If you’d like a print version, you can go to the bottom of the page (below the pictures) and use the “print friendly” button to print it.
I am confused is this worked in the round for the sole?
Yes it is.
If i use a chunky yarn, would i use 1 or 2 strands together. I am new to crocheting and these look so comfy and warm. thank you for sharing
You would probably use one strand, but the important thing is to check the gauge, then you’ll know you are good!
Here’s a link with a little more info on gauge: https://pattern-paradise.com/2015/09/09/tutorial-crochet-gauge-does-size-matter/
Thank you for this pattern i will be making some of these for friends family and of course my self. They look so soft and comfy!!!!
You are very welcome.
Those look wonderful for gifts! Thank you for sharing them!
