Squishy, squishy, squishy! That’s what this throw is! This yarn does all the work!
I made my Squishy Throw sample as a small receiving blanket in a stroller size or small receiving blanket, but this pattern can easily be adjusted to just about any size! You can find my blanket sizing chart HERE if you need help with sizing. Sizing is easy, simply adjust the beginning chain to the width you wish and work as many rows as you like to achieve the length!

I used Red Heart Fleece Hugs Yarn for the Squishy Throw and loved it! This yarn is a #4 weight, 100% polyester for easy care, comes in a dozen fun self striping colors and has a great fleecy, soft feel. This yarn does almost all the work! A simple one row repeat looks great with texture and wide stripes, plus I only needed 2 skeins for this pretty Squishy Throw.
Even though the Red Heart Fleece Hugs is listed as a #4 yarn, it has the feel of a bulkier weight. I think you could substitute a bulky weight and simply adjust the hook size for a lovely look too. I like Red Heart Hygge Yarn , Bernat Velvet Yarn or even Bernat Softee Baby Chunky Yarn. Really you could use almost any yarn you like, just be sure to use a hook that is appropriate for your yarn.
Thank you to Yarnspirations for providing the yarn for this project!

The bean stitch is pretty but not easy. Have trouble pulling thru and it stretches out the stitch. Any tips?
Don’t work it too tightly. Also, I find certain crochet hooks are smoother than others. I like Bates hooks but my favorites are the Clover Amours. I am a little confused though. You placed this comment on my Squishy Throw pattern and that does not include the bean stitch.
