This Santa Rug is a fun accessory for your holiday home. I sized it for the bath or for a little extra warmth at the side of a bed but the design is simple enough to adjust sizing.
Thank you to Yarnspirations for providing the yarn for this sample Santa Rug. I used blanket yarn for this one because it provides a cushy, warm feel on your toes but also, because it’s a super bulky yarn that makes this project super quick. Really, you could adapt this design to other yarns too. Frankly, you could even use multiple strands of worsted weight yarn held together if you are trying to reduce your stash a bit.
At first I planned to keep this rug super simple and work it in single crochet, but that seemed too ordinary, so I went with a simple crunch stitch for a bit more texture. It still works up super fast, but has a little more texture, interest and cushiness (yes, that’s a technical term)!
If you don’t believe me, ask this cute pup how cushy this rug is. She followed me around the whole time I was trying to do the photo shoot and she looked at me with those sweet eyes, pleading to keep the Santa Rug for herself. Well, don’t tell her, but it’s going to be part of her Christmas present!

I wish you would do a video of this rug! It is so cute and I am a beginner, having a hard time following the directions.
I plan to do videos of most of my patterns, just haven’t gotten to it yet 🙁
