Dragonfly Slouchy Hat
My Dragonfly line has been very popular and I’m always looking for pieces to add to it. The Dragonfly Slouchy hat is the newest addition to the set!
I designed this hat with Bernat Baby Softee Yarn, which is a DK weight (#3) yarn, to give it a lighter feel for spring, and even into summer if you made it in a cotton yarn, plus it allows me to get more dragonflies into each hat!
The Bernat Baby Softee yarn is fun to work with. It has a nice sheen and comes in a fun selection of colors. I’ve used this yarn before for sweaters, blankets and other projects and have always been pleased with the end result.

The hat has a wide ribbed band and a bit of a slouchy look but you could make it a beanie or more slouchy by adding or deleting rounds. I love designing patterns that can be customized 🙂 I left my hat plain but you could add a fun pompom to the top. I have an easy tutorial on how to make one without any special tools, you can find it at: https://pattern-paradise.com/Large Pompom

What does dc2tog in the pattern mean? I’m still pretty new to crochet so sorry if I missed something if the explanation is in the pattern. Thank you!
It means to double crochet two stitches together – this creates a decrease. You can find lots of tutorials on You Tube if you need help.
I love this dragonfly design and am making it for my granddaughter! The only question I have is in the child’s pattern in row six where you are offsetting the starting point you say to hdc till the end of the row, yet when I read over the rest of the pattern and also the adult sized patter everything else is dc. Looking at the pictures I don’t see a difference in that one row either. So I was wondering if it was a misprint and I need to dc that row rather than hdc?
Ahh! You are correct, that is a typo and should be dc not hdc. Thanks for letting me know.
