The Coastal Splendor Crochet Blanket was a labor of love. You see, my son lives in the Northeast and one day last winter he was telling me that his apartment was particularly cold, so I did what any crocheting mom would do — I crocheted him an extra thick, warm blanket! He loved his gift and now his girlfriend wants one too!
With the holidays quickly arriving, this blanket would make a very thoughtful gift for a loved one. The pattern is on sale through October 24th in my Ravelry shop.

Coastal Splendor is made with 2 strands of worsted weight yarn (I used Red Heart Soft) throughout, but it would great with just one strand or even with a sport weight yarn for a thinner blanket. This would be a perfect baby blanket too, because it doesn’t have any holes or lace for little toes and fingers to get stuck in!
I made my blanket in some of my son’s favorite colors but it looks great in more feminine colors too!
