It seems everywhere you turn these days, there is a minion in sight. Here is my version of a Minion Headband using the Winter Waves Ear Warmer. Watch out, he has his googly eye on you!
Materials:
Worsted weight yarn:
-Yellow – 50 yards
-Blue – 25 yards
-Black – 25 yards
-White & Grey – small amount of each
1 large googly eye
Hook US G – 4.00mm for the Base and Final Rounds
Hook US H – 4.5mm for the main part of the band
Abbreviations:
beg – beginning
ch – chain
hdc – half double crochet
RSC – reverse single crochet
sc – single crochet
sl st – slip stitch
st(s) – stitch(es)
To make the headband:
Follow instructions for Basic Winter Waves Ear Warmer pattern with the following modifications:
Base Row and first 2 Pattern Rows in yellow
Next 2Pattern Rowsin black
Last 2 Pattern Rows in yellow
Borders in blue
Round 1: With white, make a magic ring and work 8 hdc in center. Pull beg strand to tighten opening. Join with sl st to beg hdc. (8 hdc)
Round 2: ch2, hdc in same st, 2hdc in each remaining st. Join with sl st to beg hdc. (16 hdc)
Round 3: ch 2, *2hdc in next st, hdc in next st*. Repeat between * to last st, 2 hdc in last st. Join with sl st to beg hdc.
Round 4: Join grey, working in Front Loops Only, sc in each st. Join with sl st to beg sc.
Round 5: ch1, RSC around. Join with sl st to beg sc. Fasten off.
Glue googly eye to center of goggle and sew goggle in place.
Attach strands of yarn above the eye for the hair.
And there you go, a Minion Headband!
