I love to crochet, I love to help others, so when I had the opportunity to join a wonderful group of women and do both, it was a no brainer!  Let me explain….

In early September, Kathy Lashley of ELK Studio Hancrafted Crochet Designs, shared with a small group of us, something that had been weighing on her heart.  As happens to many of us, Kathy is often asked to donate an item or two for a charity event. What was weighing on her heart, was these requests are often sporadic and random — Kathy wanted a more organized and targeted way to help others and so, after a little discussion back and forth, ELK Studio from the Heart was born!

ELK Studio From the Heart, is a group of inspired crocheters, whose generous hearts have brought them together to sponsor a charity each month.  The charity is selected and proposed by a group member with a little background on what they do and what they need.  Each participating member prepares their donation and sends it to the coordinator for that month’s charity so that the “goodies” can be distributed.

I am so proud to be a member of this team and to share my contribution alongside these very talented and generous women.  Please take a moment to read Kathy’s post on the group.  Perhaps you will be inspired to join us too!
