This hat has very personal meaning for me and I am thrilled to get a picture of this very handsome young man wearing it. Isn’t he super cute? I hear he loves his “monster” so much he even kisses him. This hat was made by one of my testers, who has quickly become a friend, using my Maraschino Monster Hat which she personalized with earflaps and ties. Â
I designed the Maraschino Monster Hat for a very special woman who faces each day with courage, humor and grace. She still finds joy in the simple things such as silly monster hats, in spite of the health challenges she faces daily. She told me she wanted a new character hat to replace her froggy one — how could I resist? I asked what she would like and sketched as she spoke — she even dictated the colors of the original!Â
The Maraschino Monster Hat!
I have not known this woman long, but she has made a deep impression on my life. I wish her the miracle she deserves and hope this hat brings a smile to her face.
The net proceeds from the sale of this pattern will be donated to the Ronald McDonald House, in support of the excellent work they do to support families dealing with serious illness.
Please join me in making this hat a great success and providing assistance to an organization that does so much to help those facing serious life challenges.

This is adorable!!
Thank you! It is a fun hat to make too 🙂
I saw the pattern, read the backstory (which was so full of love), shed a few tears… and then ran right over to the store and contributed to the cause. Making the hat for my sweet g-kiddo, Jax, was so much fun and he does “smooch” it with love – because, I think, he knows it all started from the heart! Thank you for such a wonderful pattern, Maria!
Aww, you make me smile. 🙂
Great Hat Maria! Great cause too!
Thanks! I think the model made all the difference 🙂
I think you’re right,,, but it is a very cute pattern
