Pam says,
Last year for the Mother’s Day event, I shared how my love of crafting started with my mom. This year, I thought I would share a memory. The year was 1999 and I was in high school. Back then our high schools in Ontario went up to O.A.C. (aka grade 13). Even though I was in Grade 12 at the time, I was taking an O.A.C calculus class, which meant I was in a class with a whole bunch of older kids. I remember we were all working with our heads down, when all of a sudden there was a knock at the door and the class errupted in laughter. I looked up and standing in the doorway was a clown with a bunch of balloons. The clown asked if there was a Pam in the class. All eyes turned to look at me. I went numb. The clown then said that my mom wanted to wish me a Happy Birthday, then he gave me the balloons and started singing me songs. In the middle of class. In high school. With nowhere to hide. I don’t exactly remember what happened after that since I probably blacked out. Sigh. That is my mom in a nutshell. The type of mom who would send a signing clown to your school just to make sure you knew she was thinking of you.
Picnic Clutch
How cute is this Picnic Clutch Pam shared with us? I love the bright plaid and love that it’s a functional piece too! This clutch would look adorable with a sundress for a summer day out.
Pam used Bernat Handicrafter yarn for this design in a variety of colors. Hmm, this may even be a good stash-buster project, don’t you think?
Be sure to add it to your Ravelry Favorites too!
