Pin The Baby Onesie For Later!
What’s cuter than a little one snuggled in a baby onesie?
This baby onesie is easy to make with basic stitches that lend themselves to many color combinations. I made the yoke in a two color stripe and the bottom is an easy, light texture for a bit of style and interest. Feel free to change up the colors in whatever sequence you like or make it in a solid too.

The Design:
The baby onesie front placket is designed to extend from the neckline to the crotch and closes with buttons, to make it easy to take the onesie off and put it back on for diaper changes.
The Yarn:
I like acrylic for babies because it is easy wash/wear and it is hypoallergenic. For this pattern, I wanted a worsted weight yarn, but I wanted to make sure it was soft. Red Heart Soft Essentials Baby is a great choice as it is just as soft as the Red Heart Soft Essentials bulky I’ve used before, but in a lighter weight that lends itself better to garments. You can read my yarn reviews HERE, but let me tell you this yarn is great to work with! This yarn has 14 perfect baby colors to choose from and several are coordinates. It’s also easy to coordinate it with Red Heart Soft Essentials if you want to make a thicker blanket too!
