I don’t like things that are too tight around my neck so I tend not to wear cowls, but I love this crochet pattern. The yarn is soft and it has such nice drape that it does not feel overpowering and the lacy stitches make it light. I wear it under a coat for a little extra warmth, but mostly I wear it for style over tops and jackets. The stitch repeat is so easy and the whole thing works up in no time at all!

Hi,
I joined 1st and last row.
I dont understand the edging part. Do you sc,ch2 along the whole length again, on both sides?
Yes, it’s one round on either end of the cowl, that follows the sc, ch2 sequence.
Pattern says to repeat to ‘desired length’ Since I’ve never made one of these can you give me an approximate?
Cowl measurements range from 24″ – 36″. Infinity scarves can be double that and often are wrapped around twice.
It’s really personal preference, but the one pictured in the pattern is about 54″.
what brand of yarn do you recommend? what is light weight / DK mean.
I have two skeins of Bamboo & ewe yarn I need to use, could I use this?
it is 2.12 oz. 60 gms, 262 yds per skein, 55% wood, 30% nylon. I have one skein of fyberspates Scrumptious superwash sport yarn 4 ply. and 3 other skeins that I don’t know what to make with. Tiara by Hikoo yarn,
trekking hand art.
I don’t have a specific yarn to recommend for this one. A light weight DK means a #3 type yarn. You can find a long list of DK weight yarns on Ravelry with all the specifics about the yarn. Here is a link:
