What’s sweeter than a little girl in a pretty headband? The Fancy Headband is an easy and pretty headband that can be worn by itself or embellished with flowers, bows and more. The headband is a simple Bruge lace and works up super fast!

 

 

 

I used a worsted weight yarn with a 5.00 mm hook, but you can use almost any weight yarn you like, in fact this is a great stash buster. Be sure to match your hook to the yarn weight for best results. My headband is three stitches wide, but you could make it wider if you like — I wouldn’t recommend narrower as it would likely look disproportionate to the loops on the sides

Pattern Instructions

 

Size: Can be made to any size desired, here are some standard head sizes.

 

Materials:

• Any yarn weight desired. Fore the samples I used worsted weight yarn.
• Use hook appropriate for yarn chosen, I used Hook US H/5.00 mm
• Yarn needle for weaving ends

Gauge is not critical in this pattern. Pattern written in US Term.

 

Row 1: Ch 8, double crochet in 6th ch from hook and next two chains – you will have 3 dc and a chain 5 loop.

Row 2: Chain 5, turn, double crochet in each double crochet.

Repeat Row 2 until headband measures circumference of head minus 2 inches. Be sure that last row has the loop on the opposite side of the first row. Fasten off after last repeat leaving a 6″ tail. Thread the yarn tail into the tapestry needle, bring two ends of headband together and whip stitch the 3 double crochets. Fasten off and weave ends.
