Those of us of a “certain age” can relate to this Boho Babydoll Tank Top. Back in the 70s this look was all the rage and what’s old is new again! The top is worked in one piece and then the straps are worked right onto the top band. Cross the straps and button them in the back for a funky look. The button tab holds the top in place while offering the fun peek-a-boo open back look. If you prefer more coverage int he back, choose the larger size and overlap the back more.
I designed this top in Debbie Bliss Ecobaby yarn. I really loved working with this yarn. It feels good on the hand and has nice drape, sheen and stitch definition. I had this yarn in both mauve and teal in my stash but my lovely model has tired of pinks and decided to go with the blues — I think she made a great choice. This color reminds me of cool ocean breezes and fun in the sun!
The pattern includes instructions for typical 2 to 12 year old sizing but it isn’t difficult to size it to your needs. Just make the beginning semi-circle bigger or smaller as desired and follow the shaping and finishes as written.
