Dahlia 12″ Afghan Square
My love for flowers has snuck into my crochet again and influenced this 12″ afghan square. Dahlia’s are so beautiful. They come in a wide range of colors and petal shapes and they brighten the summer garden. This square reminds me of those qualities and will also brighten your projects whether it is the centerpiece for an afghan or used in conjunction with other squares.
I designed this square in 4 colors, but I think it would look beautiful with more or in a solid neutral as the texture is interesting, maybe even an ombre. I plan to coordinate this square with some other fun stitches for a lapghan, but it would also make a wonderful throw pillow, table runner and I’m sure it has many other uses too.
The square is made in a worsted weight yarn so it works up quickly, but the design lends itself to other weights too…imagine a finer weight square, crocheted together into a pretty wrap or shawl!

Thank you so much for this beautiful pattern. I went ahead and bought the PDF on Ravelry. Thought you should know that the PDF has some mistakes in Row 12. The pattern doesn’t match up to your web page. No biggie for anybody with experience, but might frustrate beginners. Peace!
Thank you for letting me know! I’ve corrected the PDF!
Hi instead of using the puff stitch is there another stitch i can use instead i am not a fan of puff stitches
I haven’t tested it with any other stitch, but you could always give it a try and see what looks good to you.
