If you don’t know Marlaina “Marly” Bird, you don’t know what you are missing. She is a powerhouse of energy and creative talent! Marly refers to herself as bi-craftsy as she loves to crochet and knit and does both very well. Click here to see her patterns on Ravelry.
She learned to crochet from her grandmother and to knit from a friend. In 2006 she quit her job in the financial industry to pursue her passion for needle art and founded Yarn Thing by Marly Bird, a popular blog radio show which holds the honor of being the first crochet podcast on iTunes.
Marly works with some of the top yarn companies and publishers in the industry in addition to publishing her patterns on Ravelry too. She likes to design colorful, stylish, sophisticated items that she would want to wear herself. Most of her designs are sized from Small to 3X to provide quality patterns for a wide range of sizes.
Marly is an example of someone who is living her dream by putting her passion into her profession!
