OK, so I fibbed a little. Tuesday, when I released the “last” Chameleon Hat – Holiday Joy, I told you it had been difficult choosing between an elegant, traditional style and a more fun, whimsical one, but that I had chosen elegance. Here comes the lie…in the spirit of holiday giving, I chose both!
Introducing Flurries!
Flurries appeals to the child in all of us, full of wonder and surprise! The holly and berries give this hat a decidedly holiday feel, but change up the colors and you have a fun New Years Top Hat too! I used Red Heart Yarn that I bought at Michael’s. **Please note that everyone crochets differently. These differences combined with differences in hook/yarn choice could result in substantial variations in the finished project sizing. To achieve best results, check gauge and adjust hook as necessary. As an additional checkpoint, please note that I provide diameter measurements at the end of the increases for each size. If your dimensions differ greatly, the finished hat will not meet sizing as noted. Adjust your sizing choice based on that measurement.**

how do you make magic circle
The Flurries Hat triggers memories of Frosty the Snowman cartoon and storybook as a kid. Wonderful memories.
That was always one of my favorites!
I forgot to mention this just as an FYI. I could not let me Pin the Holiday Joy Hat from the entries box. No matter how I tweaked the description, I got a “possibly leads to inappropriate content” message. I had to pin it from Pattern Paradise page.
Thanks you for letting me know. Glad you were able to do it from the page 🙂
I love them all but will have to say Flurries stole my heart! You have beautiful patterns and such creative designs!
Thank you so much!
This hat reminds me of watching the Frostie the Snowman movie with my siblings as a wee one…such great memories.
I love both of these darling hats! I also was unable to pin due to it saying it was a bad link but I was able to do all the others. Thank you for the chances!
Love this pattern, thanks so much. I am having a little trouble with the red band though. I did the single crochet in red and have 66 stitches, then next row I skip 2 shell all the way around but I end up with way more than 12 shells which is what is in () so I am not sure what I am doing wrong 🙁
Hi there,
I think you are forgetting the sc in between shells. The sequence is sc, skip 2, shell, skip 2 then repeat. Let me know if you still have trouble!
My comment never posted yesterday. I think this looks like Frosty’s hat too. I love it!!!
Nevermind, duh i was looking down instead of up sorry….Still love the the Flurries hat, though!!!
Thank you so much! I love it~ Happy Holiday to you and yours!
I love this I agree with Sandra L above!!!!
I couldn’t pin this. Pinterest said it wouldn’t link it because it might be a bad link ?
I’m sorry you were having trouble. I’ve had it looked at and was assured there is nothing wrong with the link. Perhaps try again?
Wow, every time you put up a new Chameleon hat, I am just blown away!! Then to try to narrow it down to a favorite, I just don’t know if I can do that!! I adore Snowmen, so of course I fell in love with Flurries, but with your Holiday Joy, well it has my name on it!! Then don’t get me started on your scarecrow/ Patches….May flowers, Valentines, fishing, aviators ( hubby connection there) I could never choose a favorite!! Suffice it to say I love them all!! 🙂 Thank you so much for sharing them with us!!
Aww, that’s so sweet Joy…so make them all! LOL
Frosty, of course; but it’s really truly a Christmas hat – you know, like people used to wear in Victorian England, carolers, elegance, tradition.
All in a very cute little hat!
Thanks!
This is so cute thank you!
