I can’t believe it, but the summer is pretty much over, here in the northeast. Yes, the weather is still warm and frankly, this week was probably the best beach week of the summer, but with Labor Day behind us and a new school year in blooming, the garden is showing signs of shutting down for another season.
It has been a very fruitful season indeed! We grew a few different varieties of peppers, cucumbers, tomatoes, beans, lettuce and lots and lots of herbs! I love the taste and scent of produce freshly picked from the garden. There is nothing sweeter than a tomato that makes it from garden to table in 3 minutes or less! Oh well, all good things must come to an end, and this appears to be the last of this year’s crop.
But wait! These colors remind me of Christmas….hmmm, time to start working on those holiday crochet projects!

Your vegetables look amazing. I’m in the Midwest, Northern Indiana. I planted tomotoes and peppers. Only one of my pepper plants ever got very big and has yet to give me any. I have picked a few tomatoes but even those didn’t do so well. Ready for the next season and what it will bring.
Ahh, some seasons are better than others, but this one was pretty good. I guess it was to make up for the brutal winter we had 🙂
