A crochet tale ……Once upon a time I visited a terrific yarn store and filled my basket with many skeins and cones of yarn. I didn’t have a specific project in mind for any of them, but my senses were stimulated by the colors, textures and silky, soft feel of these fibers.
One particular blueish cone of bamboo fingering, caught my eye and tickled my fancy.
After giving it some thought I decided to make a shawl. I selected a hook and began to try stitch combinations. I quickly settled upon one that had an open lacy feel and the look of orderly stripes. The body of the shawl progressed quickly and soon I was adding the border.
Then I began to wonder……..what would happen if I changed the yarn? I rummaged through my stash and found a festive red and complimentary variegated yarn. I repeated the same stitch pattern and look what I got…….a completely different look!
And that is the story of the Cape Cod Shawl. The end!
