Zig Zag Slouchie Hats
     Horizontal Chevron HatÂ
       Vertical Chevron Hat
I love chevrons! Â Not only are they bright, pleasantly geometric and fun to work, but the first blanket I ever made was a chevron, so they are nostalgic for me too! Â So following a particularly melancholy day, I decided to design a chevron hat, but I couldn’t decide if I wanted to do the traditional horizontal stripe or something a little fresher and more updated, such as a vertical stripe. Â So….I did BOTH!!
Here they are. Â I designed them as slouchies, but you could certainly shorten them and make them beanies. Â you could add a baseball brim or maybe even a scalloped edge. Â In fact, the entire design is based on customization. Â The stitch pattern for each is designed to allow you to use as many colors when and where you choose for a truly unique hat! Both hats have a decorative feature at the crown, one pulls into a radiating star and the other radiating lightening bolts and the horizontal chevrons even convert into a cowl! Â Add a pompom or two for a little bounce. Â Have fun and make it your own!

But be warned, once you start making them they will fly off your hooks quickly. Â I’ve made a few and they were all snatched up by my kids and their friends and now I’m getting requests for more!
