I figured with spring here and Easter around the corner, it was time for a new dishtowel set for my kitchen. At the time I was having an unbelievable chocolate craving too and my mind was drifting to the chocolate bunnies I had just seen at the store earlier in the day. Well, you can guess where this design came from!

The Yarn:
For kitchen and cleaning products I usually prefer a cotton, worsted weigh yarn such as Red Heart Creme de la Creme. You can read my yarn reviews HERE, but let me tell you this yarn is great to work with! There are over 50 colors including solids and multi-colored combinations so it’s pretty easy to find the colors you love!
The Dishtowel Set:
The bigger dishtowel is intended for hanging so it is tapered at the top to a band that wraps around a handle and buttons in place. This way you always have a dishtowel handy! The smaller one is really intended as a dishcloth to wash dishes, wipe counters and more. It is big enough to get the job done, but not so big that it flops all over the place splattering water as it goes – I hate that!
I kept the design pretty simple. For the larger towel I wanted the bunny to have center stage. This is the chocolate bunny of my youth. Every Easter basket I ever received had some version of this bunny so it is familiar and brings comfort and pleasant memories. The section at the bottom is reminiscent of those plastic, colorful grasses that baskets always seemed to be filled with. The button closure at the top makes it easy to add and remove from your favorite hanging place. For the smaller dishcloth, I used a repeat of a V Stitch to get a little texture for scrubbing dishes and finished it off with a very sturdy border, since these cloths seem to get a lot of wear.
Size: Bunny Dishtowel = 10” wide x 16” tall; Dishcloth = 6.5” wide x 7.5” tall
Materials:
- Worsted Weight (#4) cotton yarn, I used Red Heart Creme de la Creme – 1 ball (125 yards each) of each color is all it took for both cloths and I had leftovers of most colors. These are the colors I used:

- Color 3 (White):
