Snuggly Raglan Cardigan!

Snuggly Raglan Cardigan
Don’t you love to snuggle up in a cozy, soft sweater? Well little ones love that too and this sweater is just that! The raglan sleeve is flattering and comfortable to wear and I offer a long and short sleeve version. The collar adds a touch of style and elegance and I added two fun buttons at the top but you could easily add buttons all the way to the hemline or even insert a zipper to close up the sweater. I have an easy photo tutorial on how to insert a zipper in a sweater if you’d like to do that…just click HERE.
I’ve provided the free Snuggly Raglan Cardigan pattern below in size newborn to 6 months, but if you need bigger sizing, the full range of sizing is available in my Ravelry shop in an ad-free PDF pattern that includes sizes newborn to 6 months; 12 – 18 months; 2 – 3 years and 4 -5 years, plus schematics.
I designed the Snuggly Raglan Cardigan in Red Heart Soft Essentials bulky yarn. It’s a #5 yarn that is delightful to work with and produces a soft, thick, yet light weight fabric. I’ve used this yarn in a few different projects so far and have loved it in all of them! You can read my yarn review if you’d like to know more.

I hope you can help! I’ve tried for a week to find patterns using Red Heart Soft Essentials yarn. Each time I find a pattern I get gauge across but end up gaining a bit more on it. I started off at 11 stitches in 4″. By the time I get to the 10th row I’m at 4 1/2″ for the gauge. I’m also 2 rows short to get to 4″, I can in 5″.
I’m so beyond frustrated ready to throw the yarn in the trash. Please, help I’m getting desperate.
PatternParadise says
That is frustrating! You could try a different hook. Different hook brands in the same size can generate a different gauge. If that doesn’t work, perhaps you can adjust the length by adding or reducing the number of rows.
