Arctic Snow Hat The Arctic Snow Hat has such wonderful texture from the crown to the band. It's thick and warm and perfect for those snowy, wintery days. The band is worked in criss crossed stitches that resemble woven fibers. Add a faux fur pompom or leave it plain, it's lovely either way! The pattern is available in all my shops on:  Ravelry and Etsy You may also like Red Heart Unforgettable for this hat. *** … [Read more...] about Crochet Pattern: Arctic Snow Hat

Crochet Pattern: Aspen Slouch
Aspen Slouch The Aspen Slouch is the coordinate to the Aspen Cowl I released last week. Like the cowl, the slouch has a lighter, lacy look but make no mistake, it will provide you with a layer of warmth on those cool fall and winter days! I used Knit Picks Chroma, which is a soft wool blend, in the color Sandpiper but this hat would look lovely in any color. I love the subtle muted color transitions in the striping. I added buttons for a little extra personality too! The … [Read more...] about Crochet Pattern: Aspen Slouch
Crochet Pattern: Dogwood Slouchy & Fingerless Gloves
Dogwood Slouchy & Fingerless Gloves The Dogwood Slouch and Fingerless Gloves is a pretty set in traditional houndstooth but with a twist on the bands, and pompoms on the hat just for fun! I love the clean look of houndstooth, usually in a classic black and white combination, but this time I tried it in these two shades of grey and love how this set turned out! ***** Find the Dogwood Slouchy Here The pattern is available in all my shops:  Ravelry, Etsy Find the … [Read more...] about Crochet Pattern: Dogwood Slouchy & Fingerless Gloves
Free Crochet Pattern: Alpine Nights Beanie
Alpine Nights Beanie The Alpine Nights Beanie is the companion to my Alpine Nights Super Scarf. I really love how the waffle pattern looks so I decided a hat was in order! This one is fun, like the scarf it's easy and works up quickly.  I love the way the waffle stitch looks on the main part of the hat and opted to keep the band simple so it would not compete. I added a pompom, but of course you can leave it plain too. Mine is a beanie, but if you added a few more repeats  you could make it a … [Read more...] about Free Crochet Pattern: Alpine Nights Beanie
Crochet Pattern: Chestnut Slouch
Chestnut Slouchy I love slouch hats and this is one of my favorites. The stitch combination in the body of the hat makes for an interesting, textured look, that is easy to achieve. I love it in the contrasting color combination but for a more subtle look try it in a pretty solid, I'll bet it would even look great in a tweed or nubby yarn! The pattern is sized for toddler, child, small and large adult and it looks great with pompoms too! Click below for pompom tutorials you … [Read more...] about Crochet Pattern: Chestnut Slouch

A Tale of Two Hats……Zig Zag Chevron Hats
Zig Zag Slouchie Hats      Horizontal Chevron Hat        Vertical Chevron Hat I love chevrons!  Not only are they bright, pleasantly geometric and fun to work, but the first blanket I ever made was a chevron, so they are nostalgic for me too!  So following a particularly melancholy day, I decided to design a chevron hat, but I couldn't decide if I wanted to do the traditional horizontal stripe or something a little fresher and more updated, such as a vertical stripe. … [Read more...] about A Tale of Two Hats……Zig Zag Chevron Hats
