Ponchos and Wraps!
Ponchos and wraps are the perfect fashion accessory. They can add a layer of warmth and style, they are versatile and easy to wear and boy are they fun to make. Below is a collection that offers a little something for everyone. I hope you will enjoy it.
Here are some of my favorite ponchos and wraps!
Autumn Jewels Wrap: This wrap is a crescent shape design with simple stitches in three sections, the Base, the Lace and the Border. It has a wingspan of approximately 56″ and it’s about 21″ at the deepest point, but of course, it is easy to adjust and I’ve given you some suggestion in the pattern too. I love the edging on this one!
Winter Indulgence Wrap: Working on a wrap, throw or other large project can get a little boring, but not this one! This design is worked in rows of different stitch combinations to create various textures and lace. I love how the stitching plays with the color changes too. I added a border worked in rounds on the base and finally an edging is worked on the short ends – it’s one little twist after another to keep you interested and layer the beauty!
Spring Showers Wrap: This is one of my favorite shawl patterns. The lacy design is comprised of two different stitch combinations and I love the juxtaposition of the lace section offset by the chevron design. Make it in multiple colors for a bold statement or a combination with subtle hue differences for an ombre look. Of course, you can make this wrap in solid colors too! I’ve seen this wrap made in lots of different yarns, but my favorite is the drape of a hand dyed merino or linen yarn.
Dragonfly Poncho: These little dragonflies are so much fun to make. This poncho is sized for child and adult sizes (I’ve provided measurements so you can determine sizing) but it is super easy to size larger or smaller too. This poncho will make you smile every time you wear it!
Sonoma Sunburst Poncho: This lacy poncho was so much fun to make. I alternated a fun lace stitch with a filet section, but the story here is the yarn. I love how the color changes broke at just the right spots to create color bands!
Fatima Poncho: The Fatima Poncho was inspired by a wish-list my sister had for the “perfect” poncho. She wanted something warm, but not too heavy; elegant, but not too dressy; interesting but not too many colors or patterns and it had to be comfortable and stylish too! Well that’s a tall order!
