This video tutorial will provide step by step instructions for the Circle of Life 12″ Square that I designed for the Red Heart Joy Creators Wedding Blanket Crochet Along!
The design inspiration for my square is the never ending cycle of life, hence the name, Circle of Life! I wanted my square to represent the cycle of life so I started it with a small circle radiating from the center to represent the beginning and early life, radiating into the Circle of Life braid, representing their union in marriage; then the square continues to expand and changes in texture to represent their growth together, paths in life and a promising future.

Afghan squares are fun and easy to make and can be used for lots of different things. Of course, you can join them and make a throw, or use two of them together for a throw pillow, or even put them together with sides and a bottom for a fun tote bag. Try them in different yarns, threads and color combinations for completely different looks. Have fun and be creative!
