Small Gift Bags Using the Cricut MakerÂ
I’ve been wrapping Christmas Gifts for 24 hours straight it seems! And just as I got to the end, I realized I had a few small gifts, including some money and gift cards, for which I did not have an appropriate gift giving vessel! I could put them in an envelope of course, but that’s so boring! Then I remembered my newest craft room addition, my Cricut Maker! Hmm, could I come up with something cute, very quickly and with supplies I had on hand (because I’m NOT going to the stores today!)?
Turns out I could! I made these adorable little bags in no time at all. They are each about 4″ x 4.5″ x 1″, perfect for my needs.
Here’s what I did:
1: I went into Design Space and designed my bag using images from Cricut (the tree); text that I added (font included in Cricut) and the basic shape of the bag from a really neat site I found called Bird Cards. I was able to download a file with several different bag templates and then just chose the one I wanted. You can find the templates here:Â Bag Templates
2. After playing around with the placement and dimensions of the template, I “attached” all the different components so they would be cut as one.
3. Time to load the Cricut cutting mat with my chosen card stock, load the machine, cut the design, then peel it off the backing.
4. Once cut, I took some scraps of paper and taped them to the inside under the tree and text cutouts. Then I folded the bag at the perforations, assembled, taped (I used double sided tape but you can use glue too) and voila! I have a bunch of really cute gift giving bags.
It was super easy to get this project done, but I’ll make it even easier for you! Just go to my project template for Christmas Tree Treat Bag, click “Make It” and you are ready to go!
I hope you enjoyed this super quick and easy project.
