Welcome to Week 11!
Only two weeks left! This week we will be working these Noel Tree Ball Ornaments. These are so cute and easy you’ll want to make lots. These are really covers for purchased ball ornaments. I like to buy clear plastic balls and fill them with beads, glitter or other decorations, but you could use colored balls too.
I made these in crochet thread, but they could work with other fine weight yarn too, maybe even a DK with a small hook. They are fun to make and you can experiment with the sizing.
I worked this design in a #3 cotton thread because I like the elegant, traditional look. The gauge can be a little tricky to measure, so I provided a basic double crochet gauge as a guideline, you may have to experiment with a completed ornament cover to get it right.

Thank you to our sponsor Red Heart Yarns, for providing the yarn for this project. I used Aunt Lydia’s #3 Crochet Thread for my sample. I love how soft this cotton is and the stitch definition too. It produces a nice crochet thread look, without the fine weight of a #10 crochet thread!
