Elf Hat
Dress up to help Santa in this cute Elf Hat. The hat is worked in back loops to develop the texture, but in worsted weight yarn it goes very fast. I added the white trim around the band and it reminds me of a crown. Add a pompom for the finishing touch – here is a good tutorial on how to make one without and special equipment. There are sizes from Baby to Adult so there should be something for everyone. I hope you enjoy making it and will share your finished pictures on my Facebook page.

Very sorry. Although the picture of the patterns are the same, the pattern I was using on Pinterest wasn’t the same as this one. However, somehow I traced the Pinterest pattern back to your site, trying to find a place to ask a question about my problem. That’s odd.
I think from now on, if I find a pattern on pinterest to use, I will backtrack to the original site the pattern came from. Thanks again.

OK, let me know if I can do anything to help.

I have a (probably) stupid question. My hat is not going completely circular. Once I do the increase to, say, 20 stitches for a row, the next HDC row of 20 stitches does not go all the way around the 20 stitches in the row below.
Is this correct? It doesn’t seem like it should be. I’ve started over several times, but am very consistent in doing this wrong! Any idea what could be causing this? Appreciate it!
PatternParadise says
I’m not sure what round you are having trouble with, but in most cases there are increases in each round so the count for each round would be different. I find it helpful to use a stitch marker to mark the first stitch of the row. This keeps counting easy.
