Little Darlings Flowers
You may be wondering where the name Little Darlings came from for this crochet pattern. I recall with fondness, my Aunt Betty’s visits on Sundays. She was quite a character and wasn’t afraid to express it in her “interesting” hats and the telling of her quirky stories. She loved flowers and was always wearing some floral print or other. She would examine my Mother’s garden as soon as she arrived too. My mother grew these small petaled flowers that bloomed in many different colors. For years I thought they were named “Little Darlings” because my aunt would bend over, caress them and exclaim in her booming voice “these are the most beautiful little darlings”. And that’s where the name comes from….in honor of Aunt Betty.

I never did figure out what the flowers were really called, but my guess is they were some type of a small petal daisy or maybe even an impatience. They were beautiful and these crochet reproductions can be used for so many things. Enjoy making these with or without the stems and feel free to comment how you will use them.Â
