Sweetheart Cloche
Valentine’s Day is around the corner and it seemed an appropriate time to design a crochet pattern for this sweet cloche hat. I had a little girl in mind when I designed it but this would work well for teens and adults too. It is also a perfect hat for a chemo cap. I love to design things that are versatile and can take on a whole new personality with just a few changes.
I designed this hat with a basic double crochet cluster. Really it is like working dc2tog, but the stitches are worked in-between the stitches of the previous round versus in the traditional spot. For the pink hat I added some surface stitching to make the colors pop, but on the adult version I opted for a contrasting band with a simple strand of yarn tied in a bow.
Pink hat was made with Bernat Softee Baby Yarn; Grey hat was made with Caron Simply Soft Yarn
