The Jack O’ Pumpkin Candy Bowl is the perfect, fun bowl to hold Halloween treats. With darling googly eyes, a crooked smile and long legs, Jack is ready to greet eager trick or treaters with a sweet treat. If you don’t add the legs and face, you’ll have a pretty pumpkin container for your Fall table too.
The pumpkin is about 6″ tall and 7″ in diameter not including the legs. I used a stitch that adds a pretty texture and the eyes are a crocheted oval with googly eyes glued in place. I attached cute pompoms to the ends of the legs for fun “shoes”.
It would be fairly easy to make this pumpkin larger, too. Simply make the base larger and then continue as noted in the pattern adjusting the stitch count and being sure to add increases in the appropriate rounds.
Red Heart sent me some Super Saver yarn for this project and I love the bright color.

I just love your Jack O’Pumpkin Candy Bowl pattern. In addition to the pumpkin with legs, I would like to make one without the legs.
For the pumpkin candy bowl without legs, do I skip Round 1 of the “sides” directions?
Also, I am don’t understand Round 3”s directions of – Ch1, {sc 4 sts. 2sc in next st}, repeat between { } to end, join (48). Could you please help me decipher them?
Thanking you in advance for your assistance

Thank you !
No you still need Round 1 as that creates the transition from the base to the side PLUS it is where you would add the legs.
Round 3 means you will sc in 4 stitches then make 2 sc in the next stitch, repeat that combination until you get to the end.
