This week’s free crochet pattern is for
Mini Stocking Ornaments

Size: 2.5” wide x 4.5” tall
Materials:
- Red Heart Sparkle Soft
- White
- Dynasty
- Charcoal
- Hook US G/4.00 mm
- Stitch Marker
- Susan Bates Yarn Needle
Gauge: 16 hdc x 13 rows = approximately 4”
Abbreviations (US Terms):
ch: chain
hdc: half double crochet
sc: single crochet
sl st: slip stitch
st(s): stitch(es)
tog: together
Puff Stitch:
Yarn over, insert hook in next stitch, yarn over and pull up a loop (3 loops on hook), yarn over and pull through first 2 loops on hook (2 loops left on hook), yarn over, insert hook in same stitch, yarn over and pull up a loop (4 loops on hook), yarn over and pull through all loops on hook.
Notes:
- Pattern is written in US standard terms
- Weave ends as you work.
- Stitch count is in ( ) at end of the Round.
- Ch 1 at beginning of round does not count as a stitch.
- Use a stitch marker to keep track of toe rounds.
Pattern Instructions
Toe
Round 1: With White – Ch 2, 6 sc in 2nd ch from hook, do not join. (6)
Round 2: Work 2 sc in each st around. (12)
Round 3: *Sc in next st, 2 sc in next st*, repeat around, sl st in next st. Fasten off. (18)
Join Accent Color in first stitch.
Round 4: Ch 1, hdc in each st around, sl st to join in first st. (18)
Round 5 to 7: Repeat Round 4.
Secure the Accent Color so you can pick it up again later.
Heel
Join White in first stitch.
Row 1: Ch 1, sc in same st, sc in next 5 sts, turn. (6)
Row 2: Ch 1, sc in each st across, turn. (6)
Row 3: Ch 1, sc2tog, sc in next 2 sts, sc2tog, turn. (4)
Row 4: Ch 1, sc in each st across. Fasten off. (4)
Using the tail, fold Row 4 in half and seam the two halves together to create the heel pocket.
Body
Pick up Accent Color.
Round 8: Ch 1, evenly work 6 hdc along ends of Heel rows, hdc in each remaining st around, sl st to join in first st. (18)
Round 9: Ch 1, hdc in each st around, sl st to join in first st. (18)
Round 10 to 13: Repeat Round 9.
Fasten off.
Cuff
Lay stocking flat and join White at back of cuff opening so it lines
up with the heel.
Round 1: Ch 1, sc in each st around, sl st to join in first st, turn. (18)
Round 2: Ch 1, *sc in first st, puff st in next st*, repeat around, sl st to join in first st, turn. (18)
Round 3: Ch 1, sc in each st around, sl st to join in first st. Do not fasten off. (18)
Loop for Hanging: Ch 18, sl st in joining st, sl st in next st. Fasten off.
