Inspiration…..funny how it works…..A few weeks ago I was looking through some old pictures and came across my son’s Christening photos. I noticed the shoes he was wearing. They were white satin with ties and they looked so adorable…simple, elegant and adorable. In that moment, Twinkle Toes were born!
Remember Buster Brown Shoes? They were so cool in two colors and I think Twinkle Toes are pretty cool in the two tone too!

Some crochet pattern designs come easier than others, these took me a few tries to get “right” as I had a specific look in mind and didn’t like the result I was getting in worsted weight. I kept trying various weights until I landed on Patons Grace, a sport weight mercerized cotton, which I think shows off the details nicely and has a pleasing sheen too.

Funny how my original inspiration was white satin and I ended up with every color under the sun but white, isn’t it?

I bought this pattern and then realized it uses #3 Mercerized Cotton. I don’t have any but have a HUGE stash of all types of yarn is it possible to give some other choices or types of yarn others may have tried? I suppose WW would be too thick what about sock yarn or DK? Thank you for the lovely pattern.
admin says
Hi Shelley. You should have good success with any sport weight or even a light DK weight. I tried the design in many different yarns and liked the definition and structure best with the Grace yarn, however, I also tried it with Premiere Cotton Fair and Lighty Simply Soft with some good success. You may have to adjust to meet gauge.
