Rustic Crochet Christmas Set
I have group of wonderful crochet testers. They are technically proficient, many design their own items and most importantly, they are a generous gorup! Recently one of them shared a lovely Rustic Crochet Christmas Set she had designed. It is so lovely and I was delighted when she offered to share it with my followers! Materials Needed
Lion brand Heartland yarn 3 colors
Twine – Â 47 inches long
Polly fill, (a Hand full)
Button
Taffeta
Sizing
Stocking ~ 18 inches long, toe ~ 4 ½ inches wide, body 5 inches wide
Snowman Garland ~ 3 inches wide for snowman
Christmas Tree ornament ~ 8 inches long, body is 5 then 4 then 3 inches wide
Stiches To know
Chain (ch) single crochet (sc) double crochet (dc) Half Double crochet (hdc) treble crochet (trbc) Magic circle, slip stitch (slpst) Front post-double crochet (fpdc)
Rustic Stocking
Make a magic circle, hdc 6 inside circle, join to 1st hdc
Row 1 ~ Ch 1, 2 hdc in each stich around, join to ch 1 (12 hdc)
Row 2 ~ Ch 1, *2 hdc in 1st stich, hdc in next, * continue from * to * around join to ch 1, (18 hdc)
Row 3 ~ Ch 1, *2 hdc in 1st, hdc in each of the next 2 stiches, * Continue from * to * around, join to ch 1 (24 hdc)
Row 4 ~ Ch 1, * 2 hdc in 1st stich, Hdc in each of the next 8 stiches * continure from * to * around, Hdc in each of the last 6 stiches, join to ch 1, (28 hdc)
Row 5 ~ Ch 1, *2 hdc in 1st stich, Hdc in each of the next 9 stiches* Continue from * to * around, Hdc in each of the last 6 stiches, join to ch 1, (30 Hdc)
Row 6 ~ Ch 1, *2 Hdc in 1st stich, Hdc in each of the next 10 stiches, *Continue from * to * around, Hdc in each of the last 7 stiches, join to ch 1, (33 Hdc)
Row 7 ~ Ch 1, 2 hdc in 1st stich, Hdc in each of the rest of the stiches around, join to ch 1, (34 Hdc)
Row 8 ~ Change color, Ch 2, * skip 1st stich, Dc in each of the next 3 stiches, Trblc in skipped stich, * Continue from * to * around, Dc in each of the last 2 stiches, join to ch 2, Turn
Row 9 ~ Ch 2, Dc in each of the 1st 2 stiches, * Skip next stich, Dc in each of the next 3 stiches, Turn work, Trblc in skipped stich, Turn work, * Continue from * to * around, Join to ch 1 turn
Row 10Â ~ Repeat row 8 (do not change color though)
Row 11 ~ Repeat row 9
Row 12 ~ Repeat row 8
Row 13 ~ Repeat row 9
Row 14 ~ Repeat row 8
Row 15 ~ Repeat row 9
Row 16 ~ Change color ~ Ch 1, Hdc in each of the next 8 stiches, Turn
Row 17 -20 ~ Ch 1, Hdc in each of the stiches across, turn
Note: on Row 20 do not turn
Heal      Â
Row 21 ~ Change color ~ Ch 1, Hdc down the side of the heal (6 hdc), * Skip next stich, Dc in each of the next 3 stiches, Trblc in skipped stich * Continue from * to * around, Dc in last 2 stiches, (working up the other part of the heal now) Hdc in each stich up (6 hdc), Turn
Row 22 ~ Ch 2, * skip 1st stich, dc in each of the next 3 stiches, Turn work, trblc in skipped stich, turn work * Continue from * to * around (working around the whole stocking and heal) Dc in last, join to ch 2, Turn
Row 23 ~ Ch 2, Dc in 1st stich, * skip next stich, Dc in each of the next 3 stiches, trbc in skipped stich, * Continue from * to * around, join to ch 2, Turn
Row 24 – 32 ~ Repeat rows 22 & 23
Row 33 ~ Ch 1, Hdc in each stich around, join to ch 1 (44 Hdc)
Top of Stocking
Row 34 ~ change color ~ Ch 1, (working in the very back loop) Hdc in each stich around, join to ch 1 (44 hdc)
Row 35-38 ~ Repeat row 34, but do not change color
Row 39 ~ Ch 2, (working in both loops) Fpdc around each of the stiches around join to ch 2
Row 40 ~ Repeat row 35, Do not fasten off
Hanging strap
Row 1 ~ Ch 8, slpst inot the next stich, along row 39, Turn
Row 2 ~ (working along the strap)Â Ch 1, Hdc in each stich around, join with slpst to the other side of the strap, Fasten off, and weave in ends
Ties
Row 1 ~ Ch 88, Fasten off, Weave in and out of row 39, tie a Bow, Decorate how you wish
Snow Man Garland  –Â
Make (6)
Make a magic circle, then do 11 hdc in side, join to 1st hdc
Row 1 ~ Ch 1, 2 Hdc in each stich around, join to ch 1, (22 hdc)
Row 2 ~ Ch 1, *2 Hdc in 1st stiche, Hdc in next, * Repeat from * to * around, join to ch 1 (33 hdc)
Fasten off and weave in ends
Eyes, nose, and mouth
Using black yarn and orange yarn cross stich your eyes in the middle and the nose and mouth, or use buttons how ever you would like to make a face
Connecting the snowman together
Ch 35, join 1st snowman to chain by inserting hook in the top middle of the snowan, with joining with a chain, Next ch 35 and do the same with each snowman
You can make it as big or as small as you would like, after last snowman finish ch 35 and fasten off.
Tree decoration
Make (2)
Ch 17 ~
Row 1 ~ Sc in 2nd chain from hook, and in each of the next 15 stiches across, Turn
Row 2 ~ Ch 1, sc 2 together, sc in each of the next stiches across, sc last 2 together , Turn (14 sc)
Row 3 ~ Ch 1, Sc in each stich across, Turn (14 sc)
Row 4 ~ Ch 1, Sc 2 together, sc in each of the next stiches across, sc last 2 together, Turn (12 sc)
Row 5 ~ Ch 1, Sc in each stich across, Turn (12 sc)
Row 6 ~ Ch 1, Sc 2 together, Sc in each stich across, sc last 2 together, Turn (10 sc)
Row 7 ~ Ch 1, Sc in each stich across, Turn (10 Sc)
Row 8 ~ Ch 1, Sc 2 together, sc in each stich across, sc last 2 together, Turn (8 sc)

Row 27 ~ Ch 1, Sc in each stich across, Turn (4 sc)
Row 28 ~ Ch 1, Sc 2 together, Sc last 2 together, Turn (2 sc)
Row 29 ~ Ch 1, Sc in each stich across, (2 sc)
Row 30, Ch 1, sc 2 together, Fasten off, Weave in ends
Sew a button on the bottom of one of the trees with some Taffeta or material under the button
Sewing both sides together
Place one side on top of other; join yarn in bottom corner, connecting both trees together, now Sc in each stich around
Note: Before joining at the bottom, Lightly stuff the tree with Polly fill, then finish sc around, join to first sc and fasten off, weave in ends.. And cut a piece of string or ribbon and attach to top of tree to hang
