Large Pompom Tutorial
*You can make a multicolored pompom by holding two or more colors of yarn together when wrapping the cardboard.
1) Cut two pieces of cardboard that are slightly wider than the desired width of the pompom. Cut a 3-inch notch out of each piece, as shown. With the two pieces of cardboard together place a 12-inch piece of yarn in the notch.
2) Wrap one strand of yarn around the ends of the cardboard pieces approximately 150 times. Cut the yarn.
3) Bring the 12-inch piece of yarn up through the notches and tie it securely around the wrapped yarn.
4) With the notched end of cardboard towards you, slip your scissors between the two pieces of cardboard and cut through all the yarn loops, leaving the two long strands attached.
5) Once all the loops have been cut, use your fingers to fluff the pompom.
6) Slip the pompom off the cardboard and trim the ends until they are an even length all around. Use the two long strands to attach the pompom to your project.
