I have always loved the textured look of the star stitch, which is also known as the daisy stitch or marguerite stitch. This stitch results in a fairly solid fabric, star-like shape that radiates outward, and a nice texture without being too thick and heavy. So many people seem daunted by this stitch but it’s actually quite simple once you break down the steps, so I thought I’d put together a photo tutorial to illustrate how easy it is. Â
For some inspiration, I thought I’d show you a simple headband I made using Red Heart Unforgettable yard. You can find this beautiful yarn via our affiliates:
Now on to the tutorial……….
To work star stitch in rows, start with a odd number of stitches that will achieve your desired finished measurement.
Here’s a handy one page tutorial that you can print for easy access!

I’ve been wanting to try this, maybe now I will.
BTW, step #8 is missing from the big-pic steps, only shows on the 1-page tutorial.
